How my class is like the Cleaver family!
Hmm...well, most of my students are raised by two parent families. There are two stay at home mom's that I know about. None of them are raised by their grandparents. I have one child with no father in the picture. In my community we do get to know our neighbors fairly well, sometimes more than we want too! I do believe that everyone feels it is getting harder every day to raise a family.

My class is fairly similar to yours. What I'm seeing is more dads at home because of job loss. High stress in kids because of high stress at home.
ReplyDeleteHi Lynell! I am so happy to finally put a face with a name. I have heard awesome things about you! We are lucky to live in a community with relatively "stable" families. However, I have two parents in jail, four single parents and one being raised by grandma. I have over half my kids out of the classroom to Title I and Resource. Thanks. Tink
ReplyDeleteLynell...I have to say you are pretty darn lucky...I think I only have a handful of students whose parents are together. It's sad...
